The Michael Magro Foundation
The Michael Magro Foundation was created to bring hope, support, and relief to families facing the unimaginable—the diagnosis of pediatric cancer or other chronic childhood illnesses. Our mission is to enhance the lives of children undergoing treatment, pediatric cancer survivors, and their families by providing critical resources, financial assistance, and emotional support.
Founded in January 2005 to honor Michael’s life, the foundation began its work at the Cancer Center for Kids at NYU Winthrop-University Hospital, where he received care. Over time, our reach has expanded to support families across multiple hospitals and pediatric oncology specialties, ensuring children and their loved ones receive the help they need during their most challenging moments.
Men Wear Pink Campaign – American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink is a campaign where male community leaders pledge to wear pink throughout October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, education, and patient support, encouraging men to get involved and show support for the women in their lives. Participants raise funds, often aiming for targets like $2,500, through events, online campaigns, and community outreach, showing that men are vital in the fight against this disease.
